Heyo, my name is Kevin Diaz, and I first want to say thank you for giving my site a view! I am a Flame artist based in Los Angeles. My career started at The Mill Los Angeles location as a runner, where I began training on Flame after four months of employment. Throughout my years there, I managed to earn various promotions. I went from runner to receptionist, which exposed me to client-facing interactions while working closely with executives, management, executive producers, and VFX leads in both domestic and international offices. Little did I know this experience would help me drastically in my current Flame career during my client facing sessions.

During my time at reception, I continued training on Flame before or after hours to help with this promotion. After my stint as a receptionist, I was promoted to the VFX art support role. In this position, I managed and organized creative assets and digital media on various internal servers, including Adobe Suite files, video and still references, 3D models, stock footage, commercial supers, legal documents, fonts, artwork, and shoot photos, all while ensuring the accurate distribution of files for both producers and artists. Furthermore, I recorded project archives on all Autodesk Flame, Flame Assist, and Flare workstations.

I was responsible for preparing, reformatting, and rebuilding creative assets and digital media, including graphic elements, smart vector objects, titles and end cards, commercial supers, broadcast slates, and legal lines for Flame, utilizing programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Flame Assist. Additionally, I assisted artists with rotoscoping, generating in-house elements to use in compositing and as on-set VFX references.

After gaining extensive knowledge of a VFX pipeline and constant roto & cleanup work, I achieved my next promotion as a Flame Compositor. Once I reached this milestone, I began to immerse myself in the Flame VFX compositing world. I gained knowledge in various tracking techniques, screen replacements/comps, multiple keying methods, product enhancement, talent beauty touch-ups, sky replacement, sky/set extensions, 2D element integration, split screens, stabilization, texturing geos, projections, and camera tracking. I then made a career change and accepted an offer at a VFX studio called Ntropic. Here I was able to expand my knowledge on Flame and take on a bigger role as a Finishing Flame Artist and Lead while continuing to hone my compositing skills.

I have had the opportunity to work on projects for BMW, Comcast, NordicTrack, Nike, Xbox, Pepsi - Super Bowl Halftime Show, Uber Eats, StateFarm, Toyota - Super Bowl The Joneses, Ford, GMC, Liberty Mutual, Meta, Tide, Disney + & ESPN - The Streamer, Ocean Spray - Just Add Cran, Southern California Edison, Sonic - March Madness, Method, Banana Boat, and various NDA jobs, music videos, and shorts, all alongside incredibly talented individuals.
